Feedback Strategies

The first article that I read was Be a Mirror. This article talked about how you should give feedback the same way a mirror gives feedback. A mirror's job is to reflect back what there is without judgement. This is saying that when we give feedback on writing, to make sure to not include negative comments about their blog. You are to be specific, focus on what the reader is doing, focus on the process, make sure it can transfer, and to take yourself out of the feedback.

The second article that I read was the difference between praise and feedback. This talks about how giving positive praise to children for doing something is helpful in the fact that it will motivate them to continue wanting to learn. In doing this though, many parents tell them that they are doing a good job when in fact they could be doing a half good job. This will make the children have a lower bar for standards and end up hurting them.
